Board & Train
A Board & Train program can be an excellent way to fast-track your dog’s initial training—especially if you're struggling to make progress on your own. It’s particularly beneficial for dogs that are reactive around other dogs, as it provides a structured, calm environment where they can be gradually and safely exposed to controlled social situations under the guidance of an experienced trainer.
During their stay at our facility, your dog follows a consistent daily training routine that promotes learning, builds impulse control, and reduces stress. For reactive dogs, we work carefully at their pace to desensitise and counter-condition their responses to triggers, helping them develop more stable and socially acceptable behaviours.
One of the greatest benefits of Board & Train is the level of consistency it offers—something that's often difficult to maintain in a busy household. Your dog receives multiple short, focused training sessions each day, structured downtime, and carefully managed exposure to other dogs and real-life scenarios. This allows your dog to make real progress without becoming overwhelmed or confused.
That said, Board & Train is not a magic fix. While we lay a solid foundation during your dog’s stay, it’s critical that you continue reinforcing what they've learned once they return home. At the end of the program, we provide a detailed handover lesson where we walk you through your dog’s progress, demonstrate the training techniques we’ve used, and show you how to maintain and build upon that training at home.
Just as important as the training itself is the relationship you develop with your dog. A strong, respectful bond is built through clear communication, consistency, structure, and trust. If that relationship isn’t nurtured once your dog returns home—through ongoing reinforcement, calm leadership, and the setting of clear boundaries—problems will often return or persist. Your dog may have learned new skills while with us, but they need to see you as someone worth listening to and following. That can’t be achieved without daily interaction, guidance, and genuine connection.
To help you succeed long-term, we also offer follow-up support, so you’re never left on your own. With your ongoing commitment and consistency, the improvements made during Board & Train can lead to lasting change and a more relaxed, confident, and better-behaved dog.
Board & Train Courses
14 Day Course
- Teach loose lead walking around people and other dogs, and remain calm and maintain position beside the handler
- Sit automatically when stop walking
- Maintain sit until released
- Free/release from controlled walk
